Question: Is this made out of rubber wood?
Answer: I am sure it was real wood. It was nice and heavy.

Question: How do you get rid of the smell?
Answer: I went through a process. I used baking soda to soak up any of the whatever was on the seats and then used a steamer and a household cleaner. Then I aired out a little bit. It took about 2 weeks to rid of the smell.

Question: How durable is the surface of the table? Is it heat resistant?
Answer: No! Definitely use something to protect the surface

Question: Type of upolstery on chairs & bench...?
Answer: Chairs and bench padding are covered in a slightly textured, matte vinyl. It's durable so far and kid friendly (easy to wipe clean). Same color tone as the wood finish.
